Review and Opinion

Escape From the Prison of the Tower of the Wizard (EftPotTotW for short), the first and likely only of the Decision Paralysis Adventure series – an interactive fiction book by Zack “Jick” Johnson, that wacky guy who made Kingdom of Loathing. This was Christmas gift from my sweetie.  We had just finished playing Alice’s Nightmare in Wonderland on Christmas Eve, so we tore into EftPotTotW on Christmas Day day.

What a goofy load of goofiness. Lying to the narrator and fessing up to it. Making lasagna. The narrator mocking you. Getting drunk. Lying to the narrator some more.

If you like the weird humor of Kingdom of Loathing, West of Loathing, and Shadows Over Loathing, you’ll love this.

Errors

“Turn to” typo: A-8 the birdseed link should go to A-18

“Turn to” typo: C-44 and C-45 after writing down your lasagna status you should go to C-49

“Turn to” typo: B-31 if the word on your hand isn’t a sword, then turn to B-25 where you are killed.

There are two pages B-54 and B-55 describing doors leading to the exit of the cell block. However, nothing connects to these pages.
